  I try my best not to feel sorry for myself. Like I mentioned, I at least have a decent job and a home. But sometimes I really get lonely and just want someone to talk to. Can you be married, live in the same house and be lonely? Yes! Sometimes days go by and we say nothing to each other. I will share some of the blame.

  What is it like to have that one true friend? Growing up in the org, I never really had friends. I had many acquaintances, some of which were “worldly”. But I can’t say that I ever had that one person that I could pour my soul out to, someone that I could just talk to. My siblings and I were not allowed to have “worldly friends”, so natural friendships were never able to develop. In the org, most of the kids that I grew up with were jerks and I never fit in with them anyway. Most of the kids that I grew up with are not associated with the org anymore anyway.

  I would like to think that I am successful. I went to college, own my own home anhave a decent job. My siblings weren’t so fortunate. So I guess in that respect, I am okay.

  I hate to admit it, but my wife and I are having serious issues, in part to me learning TTATT. I never really fit the mold of a “spiritual mate”, meaning that our relationship was doomed from the start. Your mate is supposed to be your best friend. That is not the case with us. In fact, I’m not sure I have a worst enemy then her. Every time we get into a discussion (which usually turns into an argument) about the org, she threatens to record me and turn me in the brothers for apostasy! Does that sound like a friend? What few worldly associates I did have, she made me cut off all contact with them as a condition of our marriage. Since I never really had friends in the org, it has left a void that has never been filled.

  So what is it like to have that one true friend?

  i just found an archive of one of anthony morris's talks back from 1916, (yes the man is that old), about facial hair.

  obviously he recycles his talks as it will sound very similar to a recent rant of his!

  I miss my family so much. I thought I was over it but I have breakdowns every few months thinking about my family

  as most of you know i have been shunned by my family for 2 years because of a photo posted on facebook of me kissing another girl at a party.

  the matter was not dealt with fairly but it is over now and i am 100% certain that jdub org is a cult.

  but i miss my family so much.

  What makes you think that you will have your family back if you are reinstated? They may not look at you the same way even if you did go back. I am sorry to hear about what you are going through. Before you do anything, you must weigh the pros and the cons.

  so this is just so nauseating to me when she noddes her head in agreement and in a low voice or sound does a "mmm uh" in agrrement.

  but here is the deal, she never aswers at the meetings.

  she doesn't go out in service often.

  that was a quote from a dyed in the wool jw recently.

  it was a complaint.. we all know that with 'new light(tm)' that the watchtower corporation's version of 'religion' has kept changing for a long time.

  since i remember.....and i go back a long way too.

  For better or worse, it is not the same religion. It is not the same religion that I grew up in. It is not the same religion that I was baptized in. It is not even the same religion that it was 5 years ago. I am not being nostalgic, just making a point.

  Every change is great according to most dubs.

  Thoughts on "Our Christian Life and Ministry" meeting

  i just watched the sample meeting corresponding to the new release of "our christian life and ministry" and i have a few lingering thoughts.

  1- meeting layout simplified to match level of publishers.

  when i grew up in the watchtower, the only real positive takeaway i have is being forced from a very young age to have the skill for public speaking, this has directly helped me with my confidence and gave me a skillset that is valuable in my current job.

  I enjoyed reading your thoughts in regards to the "Our Christian Life and Ministry" meeting. I especially liked point no. 2 about subtle propaganda. You are spot on! I remember last year at the International Convention in Detroit, you couldn't walk two feet without seeing "JW.ORG". It was everywhere! Don't even get me started on the iPads and Tablets. The org certainly knows how to push its agenda onto the friends "without saying a word".

  like me maybe during your life as a jw the "thing" that causes someone to know if they are anointed was always a bit of mystery, except to those who claimed they knew.

  i had heard it explained to me many ways, and like many things i just said "ok, well thats an answer... i guess".
